I would have never thought a beer in a can could be so good. This has been recomended to be for a long time and I finially decided to try it. I can always go for a good IPA and the price was very reasonable given how much beer prices have increased in the past year. Sea Hag came across as being very sophisticated considering it came in a can.

Sea hag poured a light amber with a well laced head.

As expected the hops dominated the aroma. This is brewed with cascade and noble hops giving the aroma a strong earthy pine scent livened up with a floral sweetness. The hops are wonderfully strong even for an American style IPA.

The hops were pugent and assertive. They were fruity, floral and sweet yet the edge was knocked off replaced with a fuller flavor.

After the hops subsided the malts came through with a well rounded backbone of caramel and vanilla flavors.

This concluded with a bitterness that was very pleasing and well balanced.

Most surprising was how heavy the body of this beer was. Sea Hag is a beer you can sink your teeth into. A fair amount of carbonation lighten it up.

After trying this, Sea Dog is now on my short list of favorite IPAs because of its well developed flavors. This is that good of a beer and I could not taste the aluminum can.

"Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

-- Benjamin Franklin

The Beer Prayer
Our lager,
Which art in barrels,
Hallowed be thy drink.
They will be drunk,
At home as in the tavern.
Give us this day our foam head,
And forgive us our spillages,
As we forgive those who spill against us.
And lead us not to incarceration,
But deliver us from hangovers.
For thine is the beer,
The bitter and the lager,
Forever and ever.
Amen
