This is a very nice ale and not very expensive for a micro considering this beer is ABV 8.0%.

Hawk pours a deep amber with a good malt aroma and alcohol.

This beer has a high ABV and there is no attempt to hide that fact. You can taste the alcohol but surprisingly it is not over powering.

This is a nice winter type full body beer as it is rich with a syrup like caramel flavor. The cabonation is high in this beer and helps tempers the syrup like character. What I liked was the beer finishes very crisp.

This is a type of beer to be enjoyed with a steak as the food will complement the both the alcohol and sweetness of the ale. Personally, I like this beer and brewer a lot. They also brew a really good IPA.

Name: mark | Comment: well, I pick up this ale when it is on sale and I can't complain about the high ABV - that's why I buy it. Gets you piss drunk real quick. Red Tail Ale much better on the palate than this beer - it tastes like malt liquor.

The Beer Review Page

"Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

-- Benjamin Franklin

The Beer Prayer
Our lager,
Which art in barrels,
Hallowed be thy drink.
They will be drunk,
At home as in the tavern.
Give us this day our foam head,
And forgive us our spillages,
As we forgive those who spill against us.
And lead us not to incarceration,
But deliver us from hangovers.
For thine is the beer,
The bitter and the lager,
Forever and ever.
Amen
