This stout from Lancaster, PA, sounded very interesting. Brewed with lactose; milk in the name; I was expecting a rich, creamy, milk shake.

What I got was a very bitter, sour and I mean sour porter like beer.

From the aroma I was expecting espresso and chocolate.

What I tasted was just so sour I had to cringe.

As you can read this was just not my sort of drink. And I really did want to like it. Instead of buying just one to try I made the mistake of buying six.

I tried a couple more just to be sure my first impressions did not change. They didn't. If you like sour, try this.

Or I can give you what remains in the fridge.

"Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

-- Benjamin Franklin

The Beer Prayer
Our lager,
Which art in barrels,
Hallowed be thy drink.
They will be drunk,
At home as in the tavern.
Give us this day our foam head,
And forgive us our spillages,
As we forgive those who spill against us.
And lead us not to incarceration,
But deliver us from hangovers.
For thine is the beer,
The bitter and the lager,
Forever and ever.
Amen
