This is another beer I picked up at Trader Joe's grocery store.  I recently tried this brewer's IPA and enjoyed that.  Most of these odd beers I have been picking up at Trader Joe's, I have liked but there are always going to be exceptions and this is my first.

Pumplin Ale is Kennebunkport's Fall seasonal.  To begin with I am not a big fan of pumpkin flavored beers although recently I have tried,Buffalo Bill's Brewery - Pumpkin Ale and last year Anheuser-Busch Jack's Pumkin Spice Ale.  I grabbed this only because it was recommended at the store and I remembered liking the IPA.

Pumpkin ale poured a light amber with a weak big bubble white head that did not have the best retention.

Its aroma was light with subtle yet distinct pumpkin and cinnamon notes.  The cinnamon smelled like that used for mouthwash.

This beer tasted just like cinnamon mouthwash.  For the most part the pumpkin was absent however there was enough grain flavor to remind me this was a beer.  The cinnamon just came across as artificial and it dominated an otherwise fine base beer.

The body was light and watery with high amount of carbonation.

Overall this was not a horrific beer.  I just was expecting a better beer and the cinnamon to taste real. This was like popping in a piece of Dentene gum and then having a beer.
