JW Dundee is one of my favorite brewers of cheap quality beers.  Their beers are not the best out there but they are a great brewer of everyday beers and perfect to have on hand.

In the last few months or so, JW Dundee updated the labels on their beer and also removed the JW.  It appears this was just a marketing maneuver by the owner of the label High Falls. I just picked up their Oktoberfest and this which I have never seen before.  It would seem they are branching out trying to expand.

This is the first time I have seen their autumn seasonal so I grabbed it.

It poured a light brown-red with a weak head.

Oktoberfest's aroma was deep and malty with tangy lager, caramel sweet notes.

Its flavor was one dimensional and similar to some of the Trader Joe's beers I have tried such as Trader Joe's - Bohemian Lager.  This was very yeasty with a lot of bread notes.  It was also tangy with cherry flavors that contrasted well with sweeter malty grain flavors.

This finished clean with only a little bitterness.

The body was medium-to-light with a medium amount of carbonation.

Great beer? - no!  Good beer for the $4.99 a 6-pack price? Yes!
