Harpoon UFO

A number of years ago we had taken some friends to one of those places that specialized in offering 1,000s of beers from around the world. One of my friends from Europe ordered for some reason, the Michelob Wheat.

As expected it was not the best choice he could have made. Tasted like it was made in a lab and artificially flavored.

Well, Harpoon's version of a wheat is not that bad and it really is not bad at all for a beer. But, much like their I.P.A. it is just not a good example of what it is.

It is unfiltered but that did not add any character to the beer. It was a wheat but I could not taste it. This UFO was certainly unidentifiable. Much like that Michelob, it just did not taste like a wheat to me.

In fairness I would order this with dinner. But, if I am in the mood for a hearty wheat beer, much like Michelob's Wheat this is not in consideration.
