As a beer this was a nice drink and very enjoyable. I would not turn down a chance to have one if available on tap at a restaurant. i.e. This is a good pizza beer. Overall, there is a nice amount of hops upfront with a good amount of bitterness at the end to give the beer.

As an I.P.A. well there are way better examples on the market. The bitterness and floralness of the hops were on the mild side. This was more of an I.P.A. light beer than an all out, full blown example. To me a great I.P.A. makes you cringe just a little from the hops and this just did not do that.

Harpoon's IPA poured golden with an unremarkable head.

The aroma was very floral and what I like in an American IPA.

However, I really was disappointed by the flavor. This beer just did not taste like it smelled. The fruity-floral hops on the nose was great. The body was light and watery. In the back of the throat I could taste the hops but it was weak. I could taste bready-yeast and raw malt notes.  But the flavors were weak.  The beer tasted more like a bitter lager with a solid hops aroma.

This was very light bodied and watery with a good amount of carbonation.

Like I said above, there are better IPAs out there, but I did find this to be a good beer to grab on tap with dinner.
