See my review of Flying Dog's Classic Pale Ale and just magnify the hops and bitterness.

This IPA and their pale ale are very similar yet as expected the IPA is hopped up.

I enjoyed this IPA a lot and thought it well done.  Since I initially reviewed this beer over a years ago I have picked it up a couple time recently and must say I like it more than ever and will have to put this as one of the better American IPAs out there.

This beer poured amber with a weak head.

The aroma was fruity and an explosion of flowery hops.

Dry fruity flavors are upfront (kiwi, berry) and yet there was a deep, dry malt character to this beer that forms the base.  The hops are flowery with almost no pinyness about them.

Snake Dog finishes with a smooth-bitterness.  For a 7% ABV beer the alcohol is well hidden.

I could also feel the oils slightly from the hops.  The body was medium to light with a good amount of carbonation.  That same carbonation also release the hops in the aroma with each sip I took.

I am so glad I tried this again as this really is a great IPA.

"Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

-- Benjamin Franklin

The Beer Prayer
Our lager,
Which art in barrels,
Hallowed be thy drink.
They will be drunk,
At home as in the tavern.
Give us this day our foam head,
And forgive us our spillages,
As we forgive those who spill against us.
And lead us not to incarceration,
But deliver us from hangovers.
For thine is the beer,
The bitter and the lager,
Forever and ever.
Amen
