A nice beer but really nothing special or remarkable about it. The bottles label states this is an Engligh Pale Ale-style etc etc.

This is really not a good alternative to a traditional English beer. The beer is just very American in a traditional American micro-beer way as the flavors are robust, hoppy and not a well rounded balanced beer. I mean that in a good way as American craft brewers are some of the best out there.

Though, it is surprising good and enjoyable considering it is from Virginia as I have had many bad experience with the VA wine industry. Just not a fan of their wine industry.

Dominion poured amber with a weak head that had little retention.

The aroma was slight malty with some soapy hop notes.

This ales predominate flavor was the soapy hops. It comes through in the aroma as soon as the bottle is opened. It added a nice amount of tanginess. As this is an amber ale there is a hint of toffee from the malts with just a touch of lemon. The beer did finish slightly sour and dry.

This is a medium to light body beer with a medium amount of carbonation.

Overall, a nice beer but just not comparable to those classic English ales it claims to be like. In any case I have tried this beer a number of times now and it has grown on me a lot.
