For something different I grabbed a 6 pack of Carlsberg's Elephant. That was a mistake. This just was not my sort of beer and will probably not buy this again. I just found there to be too much malt flavors going on in this lager. With a 7.2% ABV, in a lighter body beer, I could really taste the alcohol.

Elephant poured a deep golden color with a solid white head. I did not find a huge amount of aroma but I could smell the alcohol and some grainy malt. The aroma was generally bland.

The first thing I noticed about the taste was the alcohol. That hit the palate and lingered. Than the malts kicked in and never let up. To me the malts tasted just raw with maybe some honey in there for good measure. I also noticed some sourness that really did not sit well with me.

This is a drinkable beer but not something I would get again. Between the heavy malt and alcohol flavors, this beer was just too much for me.

"Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."

-- Benjamin Franklin

The Beer Prayer
Our lager,
Which art in barrels,
Hallowed be thy drink.
They will be drunk,
At home as in the tavern.
Give us this day our foam head,
And forgive us our spillages,
As we forgive those who spill against us.
And lead us not to incarceration,
But deliver us from hangovers.
For thine is the beer,
The bitter and the lager,
Forever and ever.
Amen
