Today I walked into Whole Foods to grab some groceries and what do I see but Blue Moon's Spring seasonal. As you can see, I grabbed it as I am so over winter (it is only January!) and ready for the warmer weather.

There is not a lot to say about this except this was a fantastic drink. This was not a complex, multi-dimensional beer by no means. It was a simple beer with character and about what I expected from Blue Moon.

Rising Moon poured amber with a rich, creamy head that had excellent retention. There was great lacing and was very long lasting.

There was not much if any aroma at all. I could just detect some light lime notes.

As for the flavor, very malty. The bottle says this is an amber wheat ale with lime but the flavor is malty with just a touch of lime to brighten it up. The lime was not over-powering nor the malts very sweet.

This was a fresh drink with the flavors being very grassy, green and clean.

Even the texture of the beer was on the lighter side with a nice amount of carbonation.

This beer was very well done and I enjoyed this a lot. Rising Moon has the same family resemblance with Blue Moon's other beers and is not out of character. So...if you like the others you should like this.

Name: Awesome Blossom | Comment: I had been a fan of Full Moon all winter, and today I noticed Rising Moon on the shelf. Make no mistake about it, Full Moon far exceeds its predecessor.

On the first opening I smelled the beverage and with whiff #1 I was intrigued and wanted another. Whiff number two gave me memories of the smell of tequila after being vomited behind the local Dairy Queen. For certainty I took a third whiff, and bingo, smells like tequila hurls.

So I dove in to the frosty beverage. Taste one was intriguing. Taste 2 was disgusting. I sided with my better judgment and decided taste two was enough for me. To the trash it went.

Miller, you had a good thing going with Blue Moon, then even better with Full Moon. Why did you fuck it all up with Rising Moon?

Name: Sam | Comment: First of all...miller is not who makes this, sadly its coors. but its far from the watered down shit the make. Full moon is good, Harvest moon is good, But rising moon, and blue moon are damn good. Honey moon is the only disapointment, i am awaiting pale moon.

Name: Jay | Comment: I think all of Blue Moons seasonal brews are good they are all different styles of beer, the styles fit very well with different seasons. As Far as the Pale Moon goes that is also a very tasty beverage, looking forward to seeing it on the shelf regularly.

Name: emily | Comment: weakish and with a citrus-y note. Fully what I expected from a wanna-be micro-brew. I got what I paid for, and as usual, I paid too much. That said, I drank it, which I probably shouldn't have. Hope it doesn't bring on any ill-effects come morning time. I think now I'll have a Sierra.
