Another distinguished ale from the UK.
The Abbot I tried was not charged with a nitrogen widget as many of the other UK beers in a can are. Even without the widget, Abbot poured a nice amber color with a thick, rich white head.
The flavors were on the mild side. There were notes of caramel and vanilla as well as some bready-yeast malts flavors. Some fruitiness was also apparent. This beer seems to have just about everything in it but it all comes together very well.
The carbonations was on the weaker side and I believe helped bring everything together and made the mouth feel of the beer smooth.
I did read that Abbot is available with the widget. Now, I would like to try that.
