If there is one movie that I believe best portrays the college boomers of the 1960's it is "The Big Chill" released in 1983. Just about all of the major characters were in fact authentic Baby Boomers.

Kevin Kline and Glen Close are fantistic as husband (sporting goods owner) and wife (doctor). Tom Berenger is a Hollywood Star (Television Detective) who seems to be at odds with his fame. Jeff Goldblum is a bit of a sleazy magazine writer. William Hurt is essentially always spaced out on drugs and Mary kay Place is a high powered Corporate attorney who never found love. JoBeth Williams is not what she appears to be, a loving wife in a not so loving marriage.

Each of these characters is attempting to find the youth and enthusiasm they have somehow lost. The weekend in a summer home in "Peedee" South Carolina will provide them with the opportunity to revisit that spirit.

If anyone reading this piece has at one time or other seen this movie and wishes to share a word or two relative to what you think about it, please let me know.
