Service groups like Rotary, Lions and Kiwanis rely on volunteerism for continued success. Boomers make up a large segment of the membership of each of these organizations. Each of these service groups conduct events throughout the calendar year to raise funds. Events ranging from Golf Tournaments to Pancake Feasts to Yard Sales are but a few of the volunteer events conducted in nearly every city and town in the United States. The revenues from these kinds of events enable these service groups to give back to their communities. Without people giving their time and energy many community programs would be severely short of funds as well as of the human resources to perform the services rendered.
