Boomers are resilent people. The early boomers first experienced television in the 1950's and Vietnam of the 1960's.

Now in the 21st Century Boomers are looking to retire and that will be a challenge given current economic times.

Boomers always have options. One option that is available in most communities is a local Senior Center. There are share-a-ride programs available and car-pooling. Give your local Senior Center a call and inquire about this.

Why not take the bus or better yet ride your bicycle. In fact walking is the cheapest mode of transportation. Therefore, start looking at alternatives. Start walking a quarter mile and then increase that distance gradually until you can walk two, three, four or even five miles a day.

I walk just about every day, weather permitting, and average at least three miles a day. Walking will stimulate your thought process and add days, weeks, months and most likely years to your life.

By the way walking will also save money. So there is no down-side to this mode of ambulation. Just start doing it..................today!
