My site is undergoing renovation to a more borgeoise style

I'm a 28 yo. Bydlym z Steubenvilleu a Ohie. (I think that's right; declension is not my thing). Check out my pics of the hood where I'm from (and I made them all by myself). My recent computer Wallpaper shows a sign of George Bush going up in flames. I tried to upload to Christonium, but I ran into errors. I am currently recovering from having had lymphoma (which gives a new definition of the word "sucks"), and am trying to get back into the field of GIS. I would like to post some of the maps and stuff that I have made and am currently working on.

My 1040A

As the New Year unfolds, so do new experiences and adventures.  Two weeks ago I recieved an unsolicited book in the mail entitled '1040A'.  At first I was not going to do my taxes because I really wasn't interested or motivated.  And the book was not notably recommended by Amazon or Oprah.  So it sat on my counter for a few days.  Out of boredom I decided to pick it up and look at the cover.  Seeing the Statue of Liberty raise her hand up proud and high at a 90-degree angle, the bright red '1040' and the effect of specular lighting enhanced by photoshop made me say "Hmm.... this may be an interesting read.  I was going to re-read Anna Kerenina, but this looks more interesting."

 And as I turned the page as the joy leaped from my warming fingers, there was a preface from one of the most famous IRS-philosophers ever, Douglas H. Shulman.  And it began like this;

 "Dear Taxpayer,

U.S. Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.  notably said "Taxes are what we pay for civilized society."

And so far we are in complete agreement. As it continues,

"We should be proud that the vast majority of American citizens pay their taxes honestly and of their own free will"

What the fuck??  Who do they think they kidding??  Hardly nobody is honest to the IRS.  People cheatin on other people who cheat.

Despite this, I decided to read on.  So I read it over from front to back, as it says.  And I'm not filling it out for moral reasons.  I was deeply offended in 2008 with questions like "Are you Married?" and "Do you have any children??"  So I'm going to write a letter, stating my conflicts of beliefs, and mail it back to them.  But I did grab an extra copy at the library to fill out just in case there is an economic stimulus plan later.  I also e-mailed Oprah and told her "girlfriend, this book sucks.  Even worse than that book by that blonded-haired bitch who said the holocaust never happened and ran IBM and Dell ads on her website that appeared on Fox News by mistake.  Have a prosperous New Year!"

My love affair with mr. sellards

Why have I been the last person on earth not to discover Scissor Sisters??  Let me begin by saying Jake Shears voice is remarkable.  Aside from the flamoyance and outrageouness of silk underpants and risque fashion, he and fellow scissor Anna perform with musical technique that is dangerous yet nailed.  It's hard to believe the same extravagancia proleriata with which their music is performed can be combined with such solid music structure.  The control of Jake's voice is remarkable.

Their latest album, Te-Dah, came out in Nov 2007.   This morning I decided to download it from amazon.com and was so literally excited by it that church had to wait.  Just Kidding.  I don't go to church.

It left me in such a positive, optimistic mood that I would definately recommend it.

 The DVD is next.

Online today I encountered a show on BBC3 called 'Britian's Next Missing Top Model'  which features a persona called 'Disability Bitch.'  I included the web site above for reference.  My question is, what the hell does this have to do with anything relevant??  Apparently DB loves being disabled and is, apparently, a real bitch.  Up until this point I thought the UK was more advanced socially than the US.  Apparently not..............

My Mashita DVD-RAM Problems

I have a Toshiba Satellite computer that came with a DVD-RAM drive.  Ever since I got the computer almost two years ago, I've been having trouble with the drive.  I figured out the problem came from when a CD sits arround in a plastic case or cloth covering for months unused.  Then when I try to read from it, the drive reports an I/O error.  I've discovered that the error comes from the "wrong" static charge on a CD, which is pretty much a negligable factor in most other CD/DVD drives.  The DVD-RAM drive, however, is very sensative to electro-magnetic charges by it's nature and can malfunction under the wrong static-charged conditions.  I imagine the static in the room enviornment also plays a part.  That's my theory.

If I "work" on a CD for about 20 minutes a day, Putting in and out of the drive and rubbing cloths and, of all things, by arm hairs against it, I can eventually build up the "right" charge on it.  After about 3 to 7 days, it seems to work for some reason.

It's a pain, but I think it beats replacing my DVD-RAM drive.

I have yet to explain this one :-) TRN
