New Full Sized Fridge & Freezer

Today we got our new fridge and freezer. The guys from Sears came by, took out the old refrigerator and put in the new one as well as a freezer we ordered. Today we got rather a lot accomplished. We put up the old dishwasher (the portable one that you had to hook up to the sink to use!) on Craigslist and within 30 minutes, a girl called and scheduled to pick it up later. Continuing during the day we had another 5 calls on it, so I guess it was a rather popular item, or we just set the price pretty low.

Now back to the fridge and freezer:  here in the US it's not very common with a full size fridge or freezer, and especially not a freezer that doesn't have an ice maker inside. We didn't want a freezer where the space was taken up by an ice maker, and we wanted as much space as possible to store food, so therefore we were looking into the idea of two full sized models.

Even though it was a bit tricky to find, we managed to find both, and at a very reasonable price if compared to more common appliances! We put in the full size fridge where the old fridge was and we put in the freezer in the laundry room just off the kitchen. It's going to be really nice to have more fridge and freezer space, plus to have brand new, clean units.

We also just checked - a sheet pan goes in without any issues at all in the freezer, and I wouldn't be surprised if you could put in a full sized sheet pan too (one of those really large ones…) So we're very happy with these appliances: the only slight bump in the road was the door opening on the fridge, it's opening up the wrong way, but they're going to send over someone tomorrow to fix that.
