Feb 29, 2012 Leap Day Glimpse

Leap day. It's really nothing special. But then it is. Because what else only comes once every four years? Christmas is special, it's marvelous and fantastic because it's only here once a year. The same goes for birthdays, Thanksgiving, anniversaries, New Year, well the list goes on... But leap day? It's only here once every four years. And even though it might not mean anything in particular, it's kind of weird to think of. It makes you wonder what will be going on next leap year, four years from now. That seems like a long time from now, but it's really not. Doesn't that always seem like the case: like the future is miles away but then it goes by so very fast and suddenly time has just past.

Here's a glimpse of Feb 29, 2012. I wish I could get a glimpse of next leap year, but then again, no - that's probably not a good idea.

Reflection of breakfast in our newly hung mirror in the living room. Which by the way is in our very own little house (that would have been nice to know four years ago!) Left-over valentines roses (which still look great!) on the windowsill in the kitchen along with sprouting mung beans and alfalfa. Wet, rainy and pretty gray outside - outside being Oregon. With so many spring flowers if you look closely, most already past their bloom in fact. And Russian Caravan tea at the local coffee shop, a coffee shop which probably hasn't changed much in the past 30 years or so.
