Birthday Celebration, Vodka, Presents & Food

Yesterday was a good day. There was a birthday to celebrate, and who doesn't like celebrations resulting in cake, presents and food!

We went vodka tasting at a new local distillery which was nice. Tastings are always fun, but I must admit I'm not exactly used to tasting vodka straight...

Presents to be opened - some which I will write about later.

And food, drinks and more food!

Seared scallops with avocado and lemon. Our new favorite drink: lemon twist martini. Homemade onion rings. Steak au povire with said onion rings and salad. Which by the way was pure perfection. And last but not least a fantastic ending: multiple layered coconut cake with lemon curd filling and fluffy cream cheese/butter/whipped cream frosting topped with huge coconut flakes.
