2011 Favorite Project Recap

So, this year was pretty eventful. After all, we did buy our first house, spent a lot of time and energy on renovations and started working on refinishing and building new furniture among other things.

We have worked on so many different things, but I wanted to quickly take a look at some of my favorite projects; those I'm particularly happy with.

Picking Wallpaper

I haven't become tired one bit of our damask wallpaper on the arched wall, in fact I love it more each day.

Choosing Black & White Checkerboard Floor in the kitchen

The marble and granite is absolutely beautiful and breaks up all the white in the kitchen. I absolutely love this pattern and these materials. If I ever have a grand entrance, then I'll want this floor there for sure.

Painting the dining chairs blue

To go for blue at first felt a bit bold, but now they're my favorite part of this room. White chairs by contrast would have been so boring!

Marble top coffee table

Our first adventure in furniture building turned out awesome. The dark stain, the white marble, the intresting construction. It's truly a unique piece.

Built in bookcases around window

I really love the way our bookcases turned out. They look as if they've always been there, like they belong right there.

Vintage maps in custom frames

Our beautiful maps in our perfectly matching wooden frames. These maps are wondeful. They add so much life, character and atmosphere to the space.

-------

So, those are a few of my favorite parts which I think turned out exceptionally nice. Without those things, our little house wouldn't be the same at all. Hopefully we can add some more favorite things in the year of 2012.

Happy New Year!
